Doing Love

It’s called making, I told Andy. “What?” she looked confused. Andy speaks fluent French and pretty good English, but Spanish is her primary language and often expressions are confusing. Making love, not doing love, I corrected her. “Oh, will you write that down for me?” Sure, I said. We were walking instead of running that morning and catching up on what we did or made over the week-end. Another expression is got laid I started to tell her, but thought our English lesson might take hours at this rate and I had a lunch date in an hour. Later at P F Chang  with Caroline, I got a text message from Andy. What does it mean, mis around? She typed. I sent a quick text telling her to stop by later. Caroline and I were working on a digital project at my home office when Andy came by. “If anyone asks you about the week-end, the story is that we were doing photos in the darkroom, OK?” she smiled as she gave Caroline a hug.” We haven’t developed film in almost a decade, we do all our photography digitally” We couldn’t help but laugh. “We’re not laughing at you” Caroline assured her. We were just worried that her story might just be a tad bit lame.  Andy is  super smart and gorgeous, but lately seems to be a magnet for creeps. She was alternating spending her time between one guy who manages a Dunkin’ Donuts and another who I found out just got laid off from Walmart.How was I going to explain laid off when we were working on the definition of  getting laid? Neither loser knows about the other and this alone makes me nervous. Her need to be with someone is borderline neurotic and has me worried. She ended a serious relationship 6 months ago and can’t seem to say no to every creep that latches onto her. “The bartender at El Fuego ask if I full around” she sighed.  Guys like that just make me sick. He’s married for one thing and has a kid. I wondered if I should go tell Sancho to back off. Andy has given me permission to write the telenovela. Been working on a title and the script should write itself. Mañana!!!
